ISPAD 2025 in Montreal

  • At the industry session “Diabetes Care - From Research to Real-Life: Optimizing myLoop, powered by CamAPS FX, in Pediatric Type 1 Diabetes”, Dr Julia Ware and Dr Martin Tauschmann explored how the Personal Glucose Target (PGT) unique feature is transforming the management of type 1 diabetes in children and adolescents.

The speakers demonstrated, through clinical evidence and real-world cases from their practice, how CamAPS FX enables truly individualized therapy, adapting insulin delivery to each child’s daily life, age, and clinical situation. From diagnosis through adolescence, the system’s flexibility supports safe, precise glucose control while reducing the burden on families and healthcare teams.

    Adapting Care to Every Child

The PGT, adjustable between 4.4 and 11.1 mmol/L, provides unmatched flexibility and personalization among commercial HCL systems, enabling clinicians and users to tailor glucose goals - from higher targets when caution is required, such as at diagnosis or in very young children, to lower ones as stability improves - with the added ability to modify these goals in 30-minute intervals throughout the day.

A retrospective analysis of more than 8,000 users of all ages showed clear links between PGT settings and clinical outcomes: higher targets were associated with lower Time in Range, while overly low targets increased the risk of hypoglycemia, especially in toddlers.

Real-life cases illustrated how flexible PGT use supports safer management in challenging situations such as the honeymoon phase, exercise, or fasting during Ramadan. The feature’s adaptability, combined with the algorithm’s continuous learning, allows CamAPS FX to deliver truly responsive and personalized care.

A Step Forward in Paediatric Diabetes Management

The lecture concluded that PGTs are central to achieving optimal outcomes with myLoop, powered by CamAPS FX, empowering clinicians and families to balance safety, control, and everyday life.
